Nostalgic moments spent with my son during his First one year

A  famous English quote states “Nature betrays the beauty of God” but after my son came to my life I personally feel it has to be changed as “Children’s innocent smile betrays the beauty of God”!!!!
Indeed my son has brought a lot of meaning to mine and my husband, Sriram’s life. Though soon after my delivery since my son was born 28 days earlier ,I faced a lot of  lactating problems with him yet once I overcame it with the help of my mother and lactational consultant Dr Padmini whom I can never  forget in my lifetime, life was indeed wonderful with him after that.
We celebrated his naming function on 4th November 2010 at my parents house in mylapore. We named him  as “Srivishnu”, which means “the protector of the universe”. He was also given the names of four of his great grandfathers and the names suggested by his grandparents, uncle Ajay and as well as by my little cousins adding his total number of names to seventeen!!!!
On 5th November 2010 we celebrated his first Diwali followed by first Karthigai(festival signifying the birth of Tamil God Muruga) on 22nd November 2010 which coincidentally was my actual due date.
Slowing I could see and feel his growth..I could feel him sense objects move around him..He started feeling angry at times when he demanded more milk..He started gazing at bright colours, swinging objects and so on, his favourite being Lord Krishna’s laminated picture in his room. He started feeling at ease while sleeping on my lap, on my brother’s  shoulders, and in the gentle swing on my parents hands. It gave me a sense of pride when he started crying “amma” when he was just two months old!!!
After celebrating his first Pongal  festival too on 15th January 2011,on 6th February 2011,being an auspicious day, we went to Anna Nagar(to my husband’s house)  ..We were received with red carpet welcome there..Our 2nd wedding anniversary on 15th February 2011 was really memorable and special with our little "Srivishnu"…
Days were going on!!! Srivishnu now started smiling on seeing everyone’s face, tried to converse with others in his own language…We could realize that he was growing up making every moment spent with him so precious…I had hung colourful toys everywhere inside our room and also stuck pictures of God around the walls. Also played and sang songs for him..He himself started developing an interest in music. When he was just nine months old he used to hymn along with me for few of the songs that I sang for him!!!
Each activity that a child does will definitely be treasured by its mother…So was I, astonished by his actions, recorded every new thing that Srivishnu did : -
  • 25th February 2011 – He turned over
  • 26th June 2011 –He tried to swim along the floor
  • 27th August 2011 –He started to sit by himself
  • 8th September 2011-He started dancing to tunes
  • 12th September 2011–He started crawling
  • 20th September  2011 –Holding the objects, he stood
  • 5th October 2011 –He started walking along the sofa

He gave “High Five” when we said “India win” and danced to Vijay Tv Airtel super singer junior ad  “Kaal kilo karuppupuli” and Airtel ad ” ovvoru  friend’dum  theva  machan”..
It was 25th October 2011,Srivishnu’s first birthday!!! We celebrated it in a grand manner by inviting all our relatives . I had collected all the items that Srivishnu first used these one year like the first dress he wore as soon as he was born, his first socks and so on and gift wrapped it and presented to him on his birthday. Also I wrote a letter to him describing about the precious moments I have had as soon as I came to know he was in my womb till his first birthday to be given to him when he grows up.
His first "Star" birthday was auspiciously celebrated on 11/11/11 which was attended by all our kith and kin.
As I sat down to write this blog I got nostalgic, thinking about those days with Srivishnu!!!Continue reading my blog for more interesting incidents about Srivishnu!!!!!
